Responsibilities:
The Genetic Counselor is responsible for:
The Genetic Counselor assesses an individual's personal and family history for hereditary predisposition to cancer, reviews cancer risks, genetic testing options, and coordination of genetic testing.
Incorporate their education regarding genetic transfer, laboratory testing, and research data to help the patient in coping and adapting appropriately to the disease process.
Help patients understand and come to terms with the significant impact of a genetically inherited disease, how it will affect them and their families

Experience:
- Preferred: 1 year in Genetic Counseling but willing to hire a new graduate and train accordingly
Education:
- Required: Master's in Genetic Counseling
Credentials:
Genetic Counseling Certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling OR
Board Certification Eligible within 6 months, in addition to having a Genetic Counseling License in the State of Florida
