Spee-Dee Delivery is looking for a self-motivated and customer service orientated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. As a Route Driver you would be a company representative making deliveries and picking up freight. Hours and Wages: 1st shift, 2-3 days per week 8-10 hours per day Starting wage: $18.00 per hour Duties and Responsibilities: Delivers and picks up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers Complies with all company safety policies and DOT policies Inspects and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle Loads the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages Collects payments for certain packages delivered Verifies the content of pickups on shipping papers Notifies management of any problems or discrepancies Maintains professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle Assists other drivers and operations personnel with other duties, as needed Experience and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Must be 21 years of age Ability to drive a manual transmission Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record Must possess good customer service and organizational skills Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions Must be able to pass a DOT physical and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50lbs repetitively. Some overhead lifting is required Ability to work up to a 10-hour shift Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to: hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc Work environment requires time spent outdoors in changing weather elements as well as in a vehicle Work may involve other hazards pertaining to road conditions, vehicle operation and package content Benefits: 401(k) plan EEO and Affirmative Action Statement Spee-Dee Delivery Service, Inc is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
