What will you be doing at Woodard and Curran?

Woodard and Curran is growing, and we are seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist for the St. Charles County area, Missouri. The Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for the process control and permit sampling program as well as performing the analytical testing on wastewater in a lab environment as directed by the Plant Managers. Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, and communicating adjustments to operators as necessary to control their operation.
  • Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Utilize software programs for compliance tracking and maintain all necessary records.
  • Perform full range of in-house laboratory tests, following prescribed laboratory procedures, as directed by supervisor.
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental reporting.
  • Develop project wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sampling activities.
  • Develop and monitor process control sampling regimens.
  • Develop process monitoring tools to drive treatment performance.
  • Participate in development of Industrial Pre-treatment program.
  • Monitor all permit requirements.
  • Train operators on lab practices and process centric operations.
  • Assist Plant Managers in permit renewals.
  • Keeps up to date on environmental regulatory changes and educates the plant staff on these changes.
  • Engages employees to pay attention to and notify them of any environmental issues.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Missouri wastewater B operator's license or higher required.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in compliance and lab work of water or wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Applicant must possess a valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$39.12 - $39.12 an hour

The salary ranges given below are a national average only and may be different for this role based on specific collective bargaining agreements or contract requirements.
