Job Summary:

The Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Operation and Maintenance Lead will execute the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) aspects of the Systems Integration and Test (SIT) discipline for our operational collection orchestration system utilized by the Intelligence Community. This role includes management of our Tier-3 engineering team, interfacing with our customers and end users on problem identification and resolution, maintaining our O&M process and business rhythms. The O&M lead supports root cause analysis, discrepancy report handling and DR adjudication across the product teams. The O&M lead provides customer follow-up for release activities and ad hoc problem reports generated by the user community. The O&M Lead will work with engineering team to identify and assign reach back resources to resolve, track, and respond to customer generated questions. The O&M Lead also functions as the primary contact with the user community for day-to-day issues. The candidate needs to have the ability to multi-task, adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate to the organization.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Lead a team of 4-8 employees through Operations and Maintenance of a software based system in a DevSecOps environment.

  • Communicate and present complex technical issues across various audiences including customers, executives, program management, and individual contributors.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and adjudicate issues across product teams.

  • Ensure root cause of all issues and anomalies are identified and documented, communicate impact, and ensure that resolutions are implemented and verified.

  • Manage O&M process, business rhythms, and workflows.

  • Local travel between our Dulles facility, customer facility in Springfield VA, and other Raytheon sites as required to support program execution.

  • 365/24/7 support is required through shared team resources.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience.

  • System engineering and technical leadership experience with software systems and agile processes (full life cycle).

  • O&M experience, including root cause analysis, DR verification, and tier maintainer processes.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with Poly security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SIGINT, GEOINT, or Multi-INT Intelligence Community (IC) background with end user mission experience

  • Experience in a technical leadership role of a large multi-disciplined engineering team

  • Experience with cloud based S/W architectures and systems

  • Experience interacting with external customers, including both programmatic and technical presentation experience.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
