BREWER SCIENCE INC RandD Manager in SPRINGFIELD, Missouri

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a RandD Manager. This position will be located in Springfield, MO.

Summary: RandD Managers play a key role in the innovative and dynamic research and development teams. They are responsible for overseeing and coordinating research and development activities to drive product innovation, process improvements, and overall competitiveness in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of scientists and engineers to execute research and development projects from conception to commercialization.
  • Develop and implement research strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, marketing, and quality control teams to integrate RandD findings into processes and product development.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements to guide RandD initiatives.
  • Manage RandD budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and optimize project timelines for maximum productivity.
  • Report research and development results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement within the RandD team.
  • May manage multiple cross-functional research and development teams.
  • Represent the company in industry conferences, contributing to thought leadership.

Managerial/Leadership Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the team.
  • Participate in the hiring process, train, and mentor new team members.
  • Review and approve training requests, timecards, and expense reports.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance conversations.
  • Manage employee success by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, supporting professional development, and creating an environment of psychological safety and intentional inclusion.
  • Participate in continuous coaching development.
  • Communicate and coordinate alignment with other teams.
  • Implement the goals set by leadership and accomplish key corporate objectives.
  • Direct, supervise, and coordinate personnel and facilities to accomplish the group's functions; set goals for the group and other business units; and plan the use of materials and resources for the efficient accomplishment of group functions.
  • Formulate and administer policies and procedures that have a company-wide impact and/or significant impact on the companys bottom line.
  • Forecast and submit budget requirements and monitor and report on financial performance against budget.
  • Develop intermediate-range plans with a one- to three-year timeline designed to develop concrete and specific means to implement the strategic plan.

Education and Credentials:

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of RandD experience or
  • Masters or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field and 2+ years of RandD experience or
  • Minimum 2 years of team leadership or management experience preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
