This position serves as a Senior PC Application Developer, performing difficult and specialized professional work in Application Services for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Department of Revenue (IDOR). In this role you will work with a team of developers, conferring with users to determine needed changes and enhancements and perform comprehensive studies and analyses of client needs and objectives. In addition, you will coordinate projects for full-range major/complex projects including large hardware/software deployments and installations; and assign development tasks to team members, perform specification writing, coding, testing, and audit trails.
Essential Functions
- Under administrative direction, serves as a Senior PC Application Developer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting Illinois Department of Revenue (IDoR)
- Serves as liaison with user community for changes and enhancements to the application systems supported by the PC Application Development Section
- Serves as project coordinator for full-range major/complex projects including large hardware/software deployments and installations
- Serves as the primary support for scheduled and remedial maintenance to the assigned applications
- Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the supported application systems
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
