    Purpose

    This position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities of production workers in processing materials and manufacturing products. The Production Supervisor interacts with Sanitation, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and Operations staff to ensure the production of products meeting quality standards in a timely fashion.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibility includes the management of activities for the safety, integrity, legality and quality of our food products.

  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setups and adjustments to machines. Ensures correct processing, handling, and reporting are effected in all production areas.

  • Studies production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

  • Interprets specifications, procedures, and job orders to workers and assign duties.

  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in work conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and/or improve safety of department or shift.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.

  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforce safety and sanitation regulations, fairly and consistently. Serves as a role model for workers in terms of work ethic, professional image, and conduct in full compliance with all work rules and policies.

  • Regularly provides production data and feedback to employees on performance, quality, and processing changes. Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals, and document achievements or deficiencies.

  • Provides thorough job training for workers, insuring complete orientation to Company procedures and rules, safety training, and job function instructions; monitors progress frequently to focus on building knowledge and proficiency as well as good work habits.

  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Provides and encourages regular communication with employees for their participation in operational matters.

  • Prepares and conducts timely employee performance evaluations according to Company standards.

  • Resolves employee relations problems within the guidelines of Company policies and rules and in conjunction with the Production Manager and the Human Resources department.

  • Maintains time and production records and submit timely payroll data.

  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials or supplies as required.

  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments or shifts.

  • Communicates Safety, Quality, and Food Safety policies to all employees. Ensures such policies are applied by all employees.

  • Implement, support, and maintain quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.

  • Incorporates and supports GMPs and plant cleanliness among plant workers.

  • Implements and monitors overall production performance and quality standards and ensure objectives are established, documented, monitored, and reviewed. Ensure non-conformities identified in quality programs are addressed and corrected.

  • Supports, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs and legality.

  • Communicates Safety, Quality, and Food Safety policies to all employees. Ensures such policies are applied by all employees.

  • Supports and complies with GMPs.

  • Participates in TPM initiatives.

  • Follows all company policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge/ Competencies

  • Contacts: Daily interaction with Manufacturing Associates, Department Managers, or Auditors.
