Job Description: The Groundskeeping BG-03 is a career opportunity at Tyson Foods, Incorporated. This position requires knowledge in multiple skill sets including lawn and grounds manicuring, basic lawn and garden equipment maintenance and organizing schedules. The Team member is responsible for maintaining grounds equipment while ensuring the safest work environment possible. Applicant will be required to operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, or pruning saws. You will also drive trucks or other vehicles to or at work sites. Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions; hot and cold and noisy equipment. Other job duties as assigned.
The days/ hours for this position: Monday - Friday 6:00am-3:00pm with periodic weekend work as needed. There may be times when they will be required to start early due to winter weather.
Pay Scale: \$17.80
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1 years\' experience in grounds keeping, lawn maintenance or landscaping field.
Computer Skills: N/A but helpful
Communication Skills: High level oral communications, and problem-solving skills are helpful. Must have the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with other team members, all levels of management in other departments.
Special Skills: Understand troubleshooting and operation of lawn and garden equipment. Understand basic mechanical skills and troubleshooting techniques. Understand basic horticulture and landscaping practices. You must be able to display sound judgment, organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Supervisory: This is a non- supervisory position which reports directly to Associate Facilities Manager.
