The

Robotic Welding Operator (METALDEXandtrade;

)plays a vital role in ensuring the precision, consistency, and efficiency of automated welding processes. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining induction robotic welding machines while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Collaborating closely with engineering and production teams, the operator will troubleshoot and optimize welding processes to meet production goals while maintaining high-quality standards.

This role requires a strong understanding of robotic welding systems, a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace, and the ability to perform thorough inspections to uphold quality standards. Success in this position depends on technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

METALDEXandtrade;

Overview:METALDEXandtrade; is Polydecks modular wire media product line, offering a range of options from welded wire to wedge wire designs. Combining the efficiency of traditional wire cloth with the convenience of a modular system, METALDEXandtrade; provides equivalent open area to wire screens with the same aperture and diameter. Its modularity allows for seamless integration with Polydecks synthetic screen panels, enabling location-specific configurations to optimize production performance.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality inspections, including first-piece checks and routine testing, to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on robotic welding systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adjust robotic programming and welding parameters as needed for different product types.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve welding techniques and production efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain welding equipment, including cleaning and replacing parts as needed.
  • Log production data into the ERP system to ensure accurate tracking of daily output.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace by adhering to 5S principles.
  • Assist in training or mentoring new robotic welding operators.
  • Review job orders and inspect materials to ensure compliance with specifications before production.
  • Perform changeovers of tooling and ensure the correct program is installed.
  • Ensure all quality and customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, 5S, and safety practices in work areas.
  • Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
  • Able to read blueprints, calipers, and tape measures.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Skills/Certifications:

  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Strong measurement and calculation skills.
  • Basic understanding of robotic programming adjustments is preferred.
  • Experience with MIG/TIG welding techniques is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor robotic and mechanical issues independently.

Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:

  • High school or GED diploma
  • Experience with automation and robotic systems in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of robotic welding preferred
