Description We are on the lookout for a meticulous Payroll Clerk to join our team in Southport, North Carolina. This role involves handling the payroll function in our industry, utilising your skills and expertise in accounting functions, accounts payable, benefit functions, and payroll taxes. This is a contract to hire employment opportunity with the prospect of joining a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process and manage payroll transactions
• Utilize the Paylocity system to ensure efficient payroll operations
• Conduct regular checks and audits to ensure accuracy in payroll records
• Handle all payroll-related queries and concerns promptly and professionally
• Execute accounting functions, including managing accounts payable
• Oversee and manage benefit functions within the organization
• Prepare and submit reports on payroll activities and discrepancies
• Ensure strict compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to payroll operations
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other business operations
• Stay updated on the latest trends and changes in payroll procedures and tax regulations Requirements • Proficiency in accounting functions
• Experience with handling accounts payable (AP)
• Familiarity with benefit functions
• Knowledge and experience in using Paylocity
• Experience in managing full cycle payroll
• Understanding of payroll taxes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and requirements
• Experience in a similar role would be considered an asset.
