About the role

Within Operations Upstream, we are responsible for Preculture, Fermentation, Bioreactor Assembly and Primary Recovery. The Process Support department is end to end responsible for the entire production process, that results in the manufacturing of our innovative medicines. All activities are conducted under high safety, quality and cGMP standards in line with the Master Production Schedule.

In the Process Support team we are hiring a Senior Supervisor in the dayshift. The Senior Supervisor is primarily responsible for 1st and 2nd line troubleshooting, training of new and current operators and data analysis, within the Upstream production departments.

Responsibilities & the impact YOU will have:

  • You are responsible for supporting the personal development ensuring the optimal functioning of your team. You provide the right resources within your team; you align the goals (“G&O”) with the department cascade and you conduct frequent 1:1’s as well as the 5 conversations throughout the year.

  • Responsible for achieving production targets by leading operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within encouraged standards.

  • Ensure a safe and compliant working environment and adequately follow up when improvements are needed.

  • Adheres to standard operating procedures to support tasks and team needs related to the processing of ingredients and/or pharmaceutical (new) products.

  • Proactively identify potential issues before they become significant problems and take necessary actions to mitigate risks and ensure operational effectiveness.

  • Documents day-to-day activities and resources and escalates any concerns or issues to leaders to maximize successful business results.

  • Supports internal teams in developing process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to improve safety, quality, reliability, cost, and scheduling.

  • Maintains front-line knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory issues to assist in the efficient managements of tasks in accordance with internal and external regulations and procedures.

  • Keeps oversight of project implementation, risk assessment and mitigation.

  • Foster a LEAN culture through Root Cause Problem Solving, manage Tier 1, and address performance issues.

  • Conduct spot checks on standardized work, observe shopfloor behavior, and sign pitch chart visuals.

  • Perform Gemba walks, observe processes, and confirm their effectiveness.

Qualifications

Requirements for the role

  • Bachelor degree in relevant subjects, e.g. bioprocessing technology or process engineering.

  • Maintain a positive attitude that influences team morale and productivity.

  • You have leadership skills and a natural interest in people.

  • As a people manager you can empower and convince people. Demonstrate effective change leadership

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal in English (required) and Dutch (pre).

  • High quality awareness and experience/affinity with EHS&S and cGMP standards.

  • You are enthusiastic, independent and innovative (think creatively), stress resistant (deal with pressure, fast changes) and you can transfer this to your team.
