Aerotek CNC Machinist in Solon, Ohio

Position: CNC Machinist

Location: Solon

Shifts: (1st: 7-3, 2nd: 3pm-11pm with a $2 shift difference, 3rd Shift: 11-7 with a $1.50 Shift difference).

Job Description

As a CNC Machinist, you will work with supporting services to develop new machining processes and programs according to specifications. You will be responsible for proving out new processes and performing capability studies for new machines / processes. You will also work with engineering and vendors to complete tooling trials to improve tool life, cycle times, or part quality. As the chief technical resource within the department, you will help resolve technical concerns and material flow issues. You will also interface with machines to make advanced adjustments in settings, tools, or fixturing to ensure safe, efficient, and high quality production within the department. You may also be asked to perform duties across all other machining jobs (run, setup, troubleshoot). You will complete work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or Work Instructions and provide assistance to others. You will work with quality to recommend gages and measuring equipment to ensure products meet specifications and report any gage and calibration issues. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation and assist in resolution of mechanical issues. You will meet and motivate others to meet established safety, quality, performance standards to ensure production schedules are met. You will record accurate information on Manufacturing Order, Quality Check Sheets, and other paperwork and perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances. You will comply and encourage others to comply with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards, reporting any adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance to escalation procedure. You will adhere to daily 5S standards as well as help to institute improvement initiatives, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. In accordance with escalation procedure, you will notify leadership or other appropriate resources while helping to resolve problems concerning safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc. You will demonstrate flexibility by performing duties necessary to help the department succeed and have a mastery of multiple types of machines. You will actively recommend and engage in continuous improvement activities to meet customer demands.
