dsm-firmenich Intern - Flavour Sensory 1 in Singapore Tuas, Singapore

Purpose:

The purpose of this intern is to support the activities for the successful running of sensory descriptive analysis and discrimination testing, including preparation and execution of sensory tests, data compilation, basic analysis and communication of results, daily maintenance and management of facilities and equipment. Students are also required to be involved into consumer insights exploration from different markets/countries in Southeast Asia using our internal tools. Internship should provide intern an overview of Sensory & Consumer Insights team’s role in product development work. Roles and Responsibilities:

Sensory Research

Intern will conduct different types of sensory test, perform data tabulation, statistical analysis and report simple findings. They will coordinate test session, interact with internal panelist, prepare chemical references and tested products for evaluation. Interns will be trained on chemical references to familiarize sensory descriptive language, build sensory acuity skills and exposed to several market product tasting to understand regional market landscape. Consumer Insight

Interns will assist in market and consumer trends research for regional market, client’s portfolio, brand positioning, product category using in-house tools and data provider database. They will summarize information from all sources into insightful findings for product innovation and concept validation. Interns will be trained to interpret simple data from different research methodologies pertaining to various product category in FMCG industry. At the end of the internship, the intern will • Establish good sensory acuity and food tasting skills.• Build sensory knowledge and consumer research techniques. • Learn to navigate data provider and statistical software. Requirements:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PPT is a MUST to maintain product database. Good laboratory skills & inventory maintenance are required to ensure good food practices. Familiarity with online research and social media platform is bonus. Knowledge on food, sensory & consumer science is ideal.

Working Hours:

8am to 5pm (Mon – Thu)8am to 3:30pm (Fri)(Transport provided two ways)
