Job Description:
The Sales Relationship Management (“SRM”) group covers BofA’s top 150+ strategic institutional investor clients globally (including hedge funds, asset managers, insurers, sovereign wealth funds, and banks). The SRM group serves as a central point of contact and provides strategic relationship coverage for these clients across the firm via consistent senior level (“C-suite”) dialogue & coverage.
Key Goals of SRM:
Deliver the firm’s best resources and solutions in order to become a strategic partner and dealer of choice for our important & largest clients, globally
Drive increase in BofA’s market share penetration across relevant products (FICC & Equities, & other strategic opportunities) and, importantly, drive incremental revenue
Drive “client swarm” approach to deliver the firm, win fee-based & strategic mandates, and close product wallet gaps
Forge relationships with client senior management , including C-level executives, partners, regional heads to identify key opportunities through coordinated, holistic coverage across coverage teams across the firm
Partner across Global Markets (intense focus), Global Corporate & Investment Banking, and Wealth Management to deliver BofA franchise – drive cross-product lines business opportunities , and help deepen client wallet penetration
Understand the needs and priorities of our clients and match that with the strengths of our firm on a consistent basis
Help clients achieve their goals on AUM growth & performance objectives
The SRM group includes a global team of senior managing directors dedicated to building and maintaining client relationships, as well as a dynamic team of junior members who support these senior managers. The team is led from New York, and operates in America, UK, Europe, & Asia.
Role
As an seasonedAssociate on the Americas SRM team, the individual will be responsible for developing strategic insights, facilitating client coverage and supporting the APAC based SRMs.
This position is ideal for an individual who desires to build a strong foundation of product knowledge across Global Markets while leveraging their analytics skills to help drive team strategy, client outreach, and client connectivity. The SRM team works with many divisions across the firm including sales, trading, research, capital markets, investment banking, corporate/commercial banking, and wealth management, at a senior level capacity.
An Associate/VP level position in SRM provides an opportunity to: work directly with SRMs who cover the “C-suite” at some of the largest and most complex institutional clients, while also building your own junior client relationships; build strong relationships with internal sales coverage & senior trading partners; assist SRMs in partnering directly with internal executive management across asset classes and business lines to jointly execute strategies; and improve resources in an optimal fashion.
Key Responsibilities
Drive and implement key client and franchise initiatives that are owned by, and impact the global SRM team
Devise strategic business plans, presentations, briefing memos and other deliverables for senior management and SRMs
Serve as a key resource working closely with SRMs to support day-to-day client coverage, create client deliverables and meet ad-hoc client requests
Facilitate communication and drive coordination among sales coverage teams
Manage and maintain internal databases and models proprietary to the SRM team
Streamline processes and routines to more efficiently execute day-to-day tasks
Develop effective and strategic sales skills, as well as broad based product knowledge
Analyze both internal and third party data sets in order to identify key areas of focus for Senior Management
Key Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage productively with senior management, internal colleagues, and clients
Ability to think strategically and be proactive; strong work ethic, initiative and self-starter
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail and able to manage multiple client and firm deliverables at once
Skilled with Microsoft applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Solid quantitative and analytical skills using Excel and Tableau; ability to manage and analyze large datasets
Ability to work efficiently as an individual and in a team environment
Strong interest in financial markets and ability to absorb the inner-workings of several asset classes & products
Previous work experience or knowledge of fixed income and equity products a plus
Prior industry experience required
