HP Inc. Supply Chain Electrical Product Engineer in Singapore, Singapore

Job Summary

  • This role is responsible for overseeing multiple project teams through the entire development lifecycle, by applying advanced subject matter knowledge. The role encompasses assessing engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with guidelines and standards, and enhancing product quality. The role collaborates with customer engineering management to comprehend and document client priorities and requirements, while also driving innovation and technology integration.

Responsibilities

  • Leads multiple project teams of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of development across multiple engineering disciplines for complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology solutions.

  • Reviews and governs the technical quality of engineering deliverables from the project teams.

  • Evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.

  • Expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.

  • Works closely with customer engineering section management to interpret and document client priorities, scope and requirements.

  • Develops cost estimates, business cases, appropriation requests and plans for engineering projects.

  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall engineering leadership and perspective to cross- organization projects, programs, and activities.

  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the engineering design organization.

  • Exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.

  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of engineering design innovation and excellence.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 10 years minimum work experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools, or a related field.

  • Candidates shall have good knowledge of PC Product Engineering.

  • Candidates possess a proficient level of expertise in Design for Excellence (DfX) techniques.

  • Familiar with PC production process and able to do first-level issue triage on factory quality issues.

  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.

  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.

  • Teamwork: able to fit in well with a team and understand capabilities and priorities while fostering a collaborative environment Using empirical analysis, modelling, and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.

  • Excellent written and Fluent English and local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate manufacturing plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at management levels.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills using 6-sigma techniques.
