You should be comfortable diving deep into technical architectures and requirements, be able to quickly identify solutions to challenges discovered during development, and ready to work with latest mobile technology. Prior experience in building solutions for video streaming, mobile app or advertising is required. Key job responsibilities
This leader will own the software development and engineering work for a free (ad supported) video streaming service within Amazon
This leader will be responsible for design and implementation of the video and ad tech stack - which comprises of building best-in-class video player and industry leading advertising systems (innovative creatives, targeting, attribution and measurement services).
The leader will build superior audio and video experiences, including reducing streaming latency.
This person will build and lead a team of dozens of engineers.
The successful candidate is expected to be a technical manager who can deliver through leaders and who understands and sets a high bar for all parts of the software development and deployment life cycle including: design, development, documentation, testing and operations.
You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline
7+ years of relevant engineering experience and 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
5+ years of experience with building Video Streaming platform related services.
Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
Experience leading software engineering teams
Experience managing customer-facing software systems
Experience developing and executing a software roadmap
Experience in OTT / video streaming industry specifically in one of the three areas: 1) Personalization and ML or Transcoding technology 2) Experience working in Android & Player Tech 3) Experience building CMS systems & Video Catalogue Management systems
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline
Experience with large scale distributed systems
Have a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter, people manager
Work effectively across functional teams
Proven experience working with senior leadership and experience influencing and delivering on product roadmaps
Experience in managing projects and delivering quality releases on schedule
Experience in building and leading development of complex software systems
Good judge of top software engineering talent, and ability to grow their careers
Ability to work well with clients and juggle competing demands, good communication skills.
