How will you make an impact?

Engineer III, Mechanical position lead a mechanical team members in an assigned project and to assist the technical lead in managing and adhering to project timeline.

What will you do?

  • Generates/Provides conceptual proposal in supporting mechanical design review.

  • Provide/Guide team on mechanical architecture and together coordinating with design center on finalizing industrial design.

  • Implement/Review/Approve detail design using 3-dimensional modeling and 2-dimensional detail drawings.

  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling preferably Pro-Engineer and Solidworks.

  • Establish modular design and full product bill of material structure.

  • Create/Review/Approve sub-assembly test plan and report if any.

  • Ensuring team design fully integrated into mechanical architecture and design robustness.

  • Review team members design and suggest design enhancement if necessary.

  • Ability to work with vendors on design for manufacturability and supplier/vendor on cost negotiation in order to achieve product Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).

  • Good understanding of design to cost target on mechanical architecture.

  • Using CFD to study airflow and thermal characteristic of the system.

  • Experience applying Risk Management methodologies such as DFMEA and Risk/Hazard analysis.

  • Contribute to technology and innovation into R&D portal.

  • Support and assign to technology development if any.

Education & Experience

  • Degree/Master in Mechanical Engineering is required.

  • Proven experience in product development life cycle.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Designing casting, machining, plastics molding and sheetmetal parts with good design for manufacturability (DFM) practices.

  • Basic to advance geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.

  • Completed and lead, as a mechanical lead, at least one product life cycle design.

  • Good knowledge in mechanism & pneumatics.

Proficiencies Preferred

  • Good knowledge in automation and control system.

  • Experience in CFD/FLOW simulation in analyzing flow/thermal characteristic.

  • Experience in Opto-mechanical design.

  • Experience in CAD wire routing.

  • Proficient in mechanical design in medical or life sciences product development in R&D environment.
