Overview

Summary:

The Regional IT Business Relationship and Project Manager will manage and maintain a portfolio of business applications, projects, and technical data stewardship activities through execution of and conformance with Regional Business Partners to work closely to develop strategies and tactical implementation approaches to optimize IT service delivery to enhance business objectives. The Regional IT BRPM works closely with enterprise and solutions architects, program and project managers, business analysts, infrastructure and data teams and others to communicate project requirements and objectives. The goal is to evolve culture, build strategic partnerships and drive business value using information and technology.

The role is responsible for managing a portfolio of services and tools and for partnering with the regional counterparts to develop a strategic roadmap to drive innovation and added value through the portfolio. This includes understanding business needs, assisting in the prioritization of projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that provides maximum return on investment, and assisting with the development oftechnical strategy.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize objectives and propose alternatives and implementation strategies. IT BRPM must have ability to strategically evaluate choices, set priorities and translate ideas and concepts into workable proposals and advocate for them within the assigned division, department, and IT governance structures as necessary.

  • Experience with IT project management methodologies. Knowledge in project management processes such as change management, plan development, risk assessment, team building, time management, resource management, coaching and/or mentoring, and performance monitoring / approval.

  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

  • Utilizes research and client contact to evaluate and develop technology solutions that are suited to the current and future needs of the Region.

  • Communicates decisions, priorities, and relevant information to appropriate level of IT staff regarding business requests and projects.

  • Participates in Regional Business planning and Global update session

  • Follow up and drive regional issues/cases with Global teams

  • Acts as the primary point of contact to IT to link business strategies to IT priorities.

  • Identify and prioritize key IT initiatives to support business strategies and objectives.

  • Manages new initiatives as solution consultant & technology decision maker.

  • Recommends, drives new projects through demand planning ideation stage and delivers IT initiatives.

  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Ensure project activities comply with regional regulations and global standards.

  • Establish and enforce quality standards for project deliverables.

  • Conduct testing and quality control measures specific to requirements.

  • Strong presentation skills, and documentation skills

  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work optimally with people at all levels in an organization.

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas optimally both verbally and in writing

  • Enjoy challenges and learning about industry and technology trends

  • High level of energy, personal drive, and positivity

Qualifications

Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline

  • 5+ years project management experience with different solutions in complex enterprise environments

  • Experience in the Medical Device Industry

  • Experience with ERP/CRM like Salesforce implementation

  • Desired – Experience with regional projects

  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts

  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) Japanese is preferred

  • Ability to navigate cultural differences within a diverse regional environment.

  • Ability to collaborate closely with others; ability to prevent or reduce conflict.

  • Implementation and experience in related project roles such as system analyst, developer, implementer, integrator, test analyst, team leader and/or software architect

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or relevant certifications

  • Willingness to travel within APAC regions needed (10% - 20%)
