Your New Role

To direct and proactively manage all facets of WBCP Licensing - Agents, revenue, marketing, operations in SEA, HK, Taiwan and Korea , in order to deliver target revenues and net contributions set by WBCP divisional head and WBCP APAC regional head. This role will have to work closely with the licensing agents to maximize the long-term value and financial returns across South East Asia, HK, Taiwan and Korea.

This to include, but not to be limited to: Strategy for the territory, Management of Agents, Responsibility for revenue, marketing, and retail activities for WBCP; management of WBD personnel and interaction with other WBD divisions locally as well as WBCP division HQ and other WBCP offices; identifying and securing product placement opportunities, business development, overseeing brand assurance processes, monitoring royalty collections. The Director will maintain effective relationships with key licensees and retailers in the marketplace at the highest possible level in order to maximize regular communication with licensees and retailers, consistent sell-in opportunities and successful merchandising of WB products. This role will oversee Global and Destination revenue generation through management of agents and sales, controllable costs, and efficient operational aspects. The Director will collaborate with other in-territory Business Unit heads in order to maximize cross divisional revenue for the territory.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Full P/L responsibility to lead and manage agents and sales, marketing, creative, licensee support, brand assurance and administration/operations for the market. Achieve destination revenues and profit objectives for the territory as set by WBCP Division Head and WBD Regional Head, and aligned with WBD International.

  • Guide, assist and manage licensing agents’ to deliver targets for the territory.

  • Create and implement comprehensive long/short term sales and marketing plans consistent with the overall marketing direction of WBCP and the Global positioning of each property/brand. This plan should maximize Global & Destination revenue objectives, retail presence and market share.

  • Develop and Grow Highly Effective Business Relationships (external and internal)

  • Develop and execute a licensing strategy to be implemented within the region. Work with/along the division heads and local Country Manager. Develop relationships with top executives in other WBD Divisions/Companies in the region to maximize achievement of Division objectives - and contribute to corporate marketing opportunities for full line growth.

  • Establish and maintain the highest level contacts with key retailers, including helping to manage retailer relationships beyond the territory, advocating for placement and promotional support for WBCP product

  • Create and maintain other business relationships to include but not limited to: retail distributors, product manufacturers, promotion advertising agencies, promotional partners, premium suppliers, as well as relevant media, graphic art agencies and animation/commercial production houses.

  • Develop successful WBCP working relationships and sharing with Consumer Product leads in other markets as well as shared finance, worldwide marketing, legal and global category managers in the development and execution of a licensing strategy, ensuring that such strategy is in compliance with all WB policies, standards and processes

  • Deep understanding of consumers including ability to assess and prioritize key demographic segments to generate business and engagement growth

  • Monitor competitive factors and business trends in local market; maintains knowledge of market, regulatory and local/regional political forces.

  • Give input and recommendations to Regional and Int’l Executive Leadership on possible expansion and new business opportunities within the market.

Qualifications & Experiences

  • Proven and effective leadership skills

  • Strong knowledge of consumer products, marketing, licensing and retail

  • Must understand the role of entertainment properties as a marketing tool and their effective translation to tangible products, promotions, sponsorship, sweepstakes, advertising and merchandising/retailing.

  • Understanding Ecommerce industry or prior Ecommerce experience preferred

  • Highly developed and proven brand management skills

  • Proven team management and team building experience, ideally with a dynamic affiliate international field office

  • Experience identifying & developing new business and developing new business partnerships

  • Proven track record delivering revenues against planned budgets and targets

  • Strategic thinker with proven experience making sound business decisions with integrity

  • Experience working with executive leadership of local mass, mid-tier, e-commerce, and alternate channels of retail distribution

  • Must possess proven and effective communication skills, both written and oral

  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix organization

  • Must be fluent in English language

  • Knowledge of regional business culture

  • Overseas travel required

Education

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent

  • MBA or equivalent international degree/experience preferred.

Work Experience

  • At least 10 years of consumer package goods brand marketing / commercial or trade marketing / sales required

  • Proven experience in managing people required

  • Proven success in consumer/trade marketing experience required

  • Specific consumer/trade marketing experience in the Local market required

Must Have's

  • Must have the ability to negotiate.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers and all other levels of personnel.

  • Must possess confidence – not afraid to think BIG -- and diplomacy.

  • Must be a determined self-starter and initiative-taker with an eye on success, capable of working in a competitive, dynamic and rapidly changing business environment.
