Role Overview:

Siemens Smart Infrastructure's Regional Solutions and Services (RSS) business unit is seeking a Contract Manager in Singapore to support our Digital Building, Service, and Sustainability Business. This role partners with Sales, Pre-sales, and Project Execution Teams, primarily assisting Technical and Commercial Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality.

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Participating and supporting with our sales and project execution teams in negotiations with customers, representing the contractual and legal interests of Siemens, incl. proactive Claim and Variation Management.

  • Devising a contract and claim strategy together with PMs and CPMs as well as evaluation of contract discrepancies and sourcing appropriate measures, i.e. developing supplementary business opportunities in terms of active Change Order Management.

  • Successfully negotiating claims with the customers for ‘more’ (Variation Orders, Extension of Time,…) as well as defending Siemens’ interests against claims from customers & suppliers.

  • Identifying, analyzing & continuously monitoring of project risks and opportunities together with PM and CPM and defining suitable countermeasures to minimize the risk and thereby reducing Siemens’ exposure towards cost overruns and/or customers’ dissatisfaction.

  • Supporting / advising senior management in terms of activity options, particularly in crisis/escalation and project status meetings, if applicable up to and including arbitration.

  • Developing and training of contract management relevant issues for PMs / CPMs / Procurement professionals with a focus on Building Technology.

You’ll win us over by:

  • Having a University Degree equivalent academic qualification from reputable University or College.

  • Having more than 8 years of professional experience in project management, contract management or commercial project management, preferably in a project-based industry (e.g. construction, technology, etc.); a Project Management Professional (PMP) or a Commercial Project Manager (CPM) certification is an advantage.

  • Being able to convince with high analytical competence, and a high level of commitment, focusing on both customer and results in a confident and assertiveness manner

  • Having an excellent understanding of contract law and market standard legal forms; experience of local legislation would be an advantage.

  • Being able to solve problems proactively and are used to presenting problems & challenges with a fitting solution. Ideally, you have demonstrated this as member in project groups.

  • Having excellent written and oral presentation skills round off your profile.
