What you will be supporting:

The Food and Drug Administration Office of Women’s Health (OWH) is seeking professional services to support OWH science related activities, increase OWH’s visual identity, develop informational and educational marketing campaigns, and develop and implement a digital strategy for disseminating OWH social media and digital messages, video content, visual graphics support, and content for print publications for diverse audiences of women, health care providers, and women’s health stakeholders. This includes the development of new informational and educational marketing campaigns or initiatives to promote women’s health topics within the purview of the products regulated by the FDA that impact women’s health, or refinement of existing campaigns or initiatives.

What are we looking for?

The Senior Communication Specialist will lead the support in strategic communications. Provides oversight for the development and dissemination of digital content and tools across multiple platforms to facilitate OWH digital outreach. Be responsible for the effectiveness of the OWH strategies for outreach and branding. Develop and implement a comprehensive branding strategy to promote awareness of women’s health-related topics. Provide Spanish translation needs for OWH outreach as needed.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:

  • Manage the development and implementation of a branding strategy and digital outreach plan to promote OWH women’s health content

  • Be responsible for the delivery of communication and outreach services to ensure effectiveness

  • Lead the literature reviews and research to gather relevant information on pertinent women’s health matters

  • Provide insight and advice on strategic direction and outcomes for projects

  • Assist OWH to conduct Focus Group research such as diverse women consumer assessments of educational campaigns and materials developed by OWH on women’s health-related topics

  • Help the translation of print/digit media from English to Spanish

  • Lead the content development for OWH blogs and Ad Campaigns

  • Manage the development and updates of print materials in support of OWH scientific publications, workshops, conferences, and meetings

    This is you:

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

  • Spanish fluency in reading, writing, and speaking

  • Experience with developing marketing communications channels for public health organizations

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail, self-starter, quick and critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and patience

  • Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively

  • Able to work independently and with teams

    You will wow us even more if you have these skills:

  • Previous experience with FDA mission, programs, policies, procedures, and communication activities preferred

    Education & Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Public Policy

  • 10 Years of Professional Experience

    Currently due to the remote working status of the federal government, most DRT employees are teleworking from home and leveraging video conferencing along with other virtual productivity tools. Under normal circumstances, most of our positions are required to report onsite. However, DRT has not yet determined when employees will be required to return to their onsite workspaces. Please be aware that at the time a date is determined to return to the worksite, the requirement of this position may be to report in person to the work location.
