New Mexico State Job Bank Sewer Crew Member in Silver City, New Mexico
Under close supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled work requiring specialized knowledge in the installation, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater systems piping, valves and accessories:
Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work requiring specialized knowledge in the installation, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater systems, including piping, valves, and accessories. Locates, maintains, and operates valves and hydrants. Take measurements and records data on forms. Operates heavy construction equipment. Assists water crew when needed. May be required to work stand-by duties which may include weekends and nights. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Outdoor environment. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors, and work in confined areas. May be required to work on stand-by status, which may include weekends and nights.
Position Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- NM Class D Drivers License; CDL preferred.
- Two (2) years experience as a laborer, maintenance worker, construction helper or directly related field.
- Heavy equipment experience, preferred.
