Here is the Gist:

As a member of the Boule Support Equipment team, the person in this role will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, rebuilding critical components, and 5s activities on production and R&D systems. This role will interact directly with operations, process, equipment engineering, tool install engineers and technicians, and other groups to meet department and Wolfspeed goals. Successful candidates will have a strong team mentality and strong communication skills. Candidates working in this area must exhibit and mandate safe working practices. This role will also be responsible for a diverse mixture of activities with a strong emphasis on time and thorough completion of the preventive maintenance to keep tool availability at highest possible level.

 

This posting is for a position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially. The person in this position will work a 12-hour manufacturing night shift on a Front End or Back End shift pattern:

  • Front End Nights: Every other Saturday, Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays

  • Back End Nights: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday

The day to day:

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance tasks (cleaning, troubleshooting, calibration, or routine service).

  • Perform mechanical tasks to complete procedure and diagnose tool health

  • Complete work orders assigned and document all job details and findings.

  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management systems for task details and work scheduling.

  • Dismantle, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, or drawings

  • Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform checks and setup tools as needed per material demand.

  • Participate in training, exhibit 5s, and mandate safe working practices.

  • Foster teamwork and support team-building activities.

  • Work with vendors and Install team to commission tools

This job is right for you if you have:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 5+ years of equipment maintenance experience

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude/experience

  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, schematics, procedures, and maintenance manuals

  • Ability and desire to learn new fields of discipline

  • Experience with MS Office Suit

  • Possess a strong work ethic and ability to manage time

  • Willingness to work a 12-hour night shift

  

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of CNC machining, G-code, and machining experience

  • Knowledge of industrial robots such as ABB and Fanuc.
