ASRC Federal Gulf State Constructors,a subsidiary of ASRC Federal,is seeking a full time Environmental Technician IIto support our government customer programs in Wichita Falls, Texas. This role is an onsite position.

Key Role:

  • Supports the Environmental Team in the development and monitoring of all Sheppard AFB Environmental programs to comply with federal, state, local andAir Force regulations. Act as liaison with representatives of Base Safety, Fire Department, OSHA, and other government organizations.

  • Responsible for coordinating state permits and registration tasks. Monitors trends to identify environmental issues, problems or hazard areas, and recommend corrective action to the Environmental Supervisor.

  • Supports the management of related environmental plans, data bases, and activities. Participates in, attends, and chairs various environmental working groups, when needed.

  • Participates in quarterly meetings in support of the P2/Compliance Subcommittee and the Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Council (ESOHC).

  • Supports all environmental training requirements in accordance with local, federal, state, local, and Air Force regulations and contractual requirements.

  • Supports the environmental team in the management of the Pollution Prevention (P2) Program.

  • Supports the environmental team in the management of hazardous waste and solid waste (i.e. florescent light bulbs, batteries) and aid in preparing these waste products for shipment. Assists with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) training to installation hazardous waste accumulation site managers and other personnel as applicable.

  • Participates in the organization of the quarterly General Plan Environmental Assessment working group. May be required to attend and participate in the AICUZ working group.

  • Escorts federal, state and local regulatory officials on base as they conduct various compliance inspections.

  • Responsible for operating the Universal Waste Center as needed during days of operation, as required by contract.

  • May be required to manage and/or assist with packaging and shipping of hazardous wastes at the 90-day storage building.

  • May be required to conduct or manage/oversee field inspections of waste collection points, storm water conveyances and other environmental related areas of concern.

  • May be required to manage the inventory in the spill supplies building and report the status of the inventory to the Environmental Supervisor.

  • Manage and/or assists in spill response activities – not to exceed Level C PPE.

  • Other duties as assigned to meet customer and mission requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Physical Science Degree (e.g. Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science) from a university accredited in the Degree issued (e.g. ABET for Engineering and Technology) required or 4 years full time of practical, documented experience in the Environmental field and working with federal regulations and documents (i.e., multi-discipline RCRA, CWA, CAA, experience)

  • Valid State Driver’s License. These certifications must be obtained within 90 days of hire if not currently possessed.

  • Must be able to pass a federal background check in order to obtain base access.

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of environmental experience. Strong working knowledge of EPA, state, local regulations, and contractual requirements (to include environmental compliance, pollution prevention, conservation, and community relations).

  • Program-specific requirements: Current HAZWOPER and RCRA Certification preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Air Force environmental programs highly desired.

  • Possess excellent oral, written, and communication skills.

  • Ability to give attention to detail and execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to interact with customers and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.

  • Must be customer oriented.

  • Must provide quality service to the Air Force customers.

  • Must be able to input/extract data, prepare field reports, and transmit documents.

Pay Rate: 33.55
