Nike Senior Manager, Product Development GC Express Lane in Shanghai, China

Overview of the Job:

  • Collaborate with design, product marketing and manufacturing to effectively execute on product development goals and deliverables

  • Lead and manage product development team to ensure the development process from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned models to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.

  • Coach and develop team through clearly setting team and individual goals and creating development opportunities based on IDP.

Reporting Line: GC Express Lane Senior Footwear Product Director

Job Responsibility:

  • Works as a senior member of GC Express Lane leadership team partnering directly with design, product marketing and manufacturing in developing short term and long-term agenda to deliver leading edge product development.

  • Ensures the product development teams deliver on time products according to critical dates, product specifications, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.

  • Drives product development process innovation utilizing, functional, category or outside expertise to establish breakthrough improvements.

  • Identifies and helps resolve complex technical, operational and organizational problems

  • Makes decisions guided by resource availability and functional objectives that impact the support and funding of projects, products, services and/or technologies

  • Develops departmental plans, including business, production and or organizational priorities

Functional Skill Required (Hard skills):

  • An expert at independently driving and leading the development process.

  • Actively engages and collaborates with Design and Product Marketing to deliver product to costing targets.

  • Provide leadership to both tech dev and material dev.

  • Identify and resolve complex technical, operational and organizational problems

  • Integrate company mission into daily work and planning

  • Leads or participates in key initiatives, programs or products with moderate to wide visibility

  • Strong communication skill to lead and influence. Be able to manage conflict.

  • Manage team and set team and individual goals that align with merchandising goals.

Experience Required (Soft skills):

  • Requires a Bachelors Degree and Minimum 8 years combined project management experience relevant product-related role.

  • Strong and passionate understanding for sports or footwear industry to deliver a premium consumer experience through products.

  • Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives, network, influence, and utilize internal and external resources as well as demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to inspire and mentor others within a work group.

  • Experience in a cross functional work environment, project management or matrix organization, being able to work independently while still be a good team player.
