Abbott Senior IT Business Relationship Manager in Shanghai, China

The IT Business Relationship Manager is a key role to develop and execute IT strategies for Supply Chain Planning and Logistics for Abbott Nutrition’s China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan operations. Candidates who apply must:

  • Understand and contributes to business strategies and capabilities for Supply Chain Operations, demand and supply network planning, forecasting, S&OP, inventory management, capacity management, global trade management, manufacturing, quality, and logistics that translate into IT roadmap/strategy and portfolio of programs, projects, and applications.

  • Creates and owns roadmaps containing sequencing of IT solutions working towards the achievement of the business strategies. (3-5 years)

  • Influences and partners with business leaders (Director, Sr. Director level) to manage and align the IT portfolio of projects, including close collaboration with corporate IT, regional IT, and external partners to ensure adequate and timely delivery of agreed service.

  • Maintain a significant understanding of supply chain business processes, taking into account GxP regulations relevant to the business area

  • Partners and collaborates with key IT staff of other Abbott divisions to support cross-divisional business initiatives and explore IT synergies and efficiencies to promote a global perspective.

  • Ensure that organization has the capabilities and resources required to support the specific business function/geography for the portfolio of IT projects

  • Understand current market/changing technology trends and promotes a global perspective.

  • Identify standardization of processes and support solutions and promotes a global perspective.

  • Work with the business function/geography and IT Corporate functions to develop project business cases and value realization processes

  • Regularly communicate the status of solutions and services for the specific function/geography

  • Identify and control IT functional / geography costs; Oversee and control the unit IT budget, project capital/RCE expenditures, and ROI.

  • Assess the current and future risk profile of the function/geography

  • Recommend solutions assuring fit with business unit direction, strategy, and priorities

  • Provides IT expertise for business projects including recommendations, costing, compliance, procedures, and process. Continually look for opportunities for cost reductions and cost avoidance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with senior business management to align and understand business strategies and develop plans for each business function/geography.

  • Collaborate with senior business management on the IT Strategy to assess and establish priorities on global/regional/local initiatives.

  • Work with senior business management to identify critical vs. nice-to-have functionality to promote re-use of existing solutions (application rationalization) and process alignment

  • Enable IT to know technological expectations from the business viewpoint.

  • Facilitate communications flow between IT and Business (Costs/Projects/New demand/services/audits/risks).

  • Identify and manage IT Total Cost of Ownership for the specific function/geography

  • Identify and manage IT current and future function/geography IT risk profile

  • Ensure good project governance & execution, partnering with Corporate IT function, with monthly reporting ensuring justification of deviations and providing feedback to functional stakeholders.

Project Portfolio – Demand Management

  • Work with senior business managers to assess and establish priorities on business IT initiatives.

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive portfolio of IT investments for the business area and ensure alignment and integration into the enterprise IT strategy and Project Portfolio Management.

  • Actively detect and manage business process improvement & standardization and decision-making support requirements.

  • Challenge and improve the alignment of the business requirements with regional or global templates

Strategic Focus

  • Ensure supply chain priorities are communicated to IT community.

  • Communicate IT strategies to business executives.

  • Provide strategic consultancy support to assigned customers in filtering, defining or designing business processes and requirements.

  • Research and identify enabling solutions, best practices, and technologies to proactively address customer requirements

Project Execution

  • Ensure appropriate communication of project progress, changes, and milestones

  • Ensure understanding of proper best practices, standards, and guidelines that apply to the business.

  • Assist the business during the tracking of benefits after project implementation.

  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate IT Solution Delivery organization to ensure alignment of IT demand and supply for the business areas and oversee the delivery of related IT initiatives.

  • Accomplish project objectives within constraints of the project, with responsibility for the outcome (success or failure) of the project from project execution and business result perspectives.

  • Support planning, controlling and monitoring, and manage/direct assigned project resources to best meet project objectives

  • Oversee and control the unit IT budget, project capital/RCE expenditures and ROI.

  • Oversee the Business IT Expert team budget, and project capital/RCE Expenditures.

Financial Accountability

  • The financial implications of the applications range up to $10 MM.

  • Cumulative project budgets ranging up to $10 MM and 500 - 5,000 users

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or another discipline relevant to the healthcare industry or equivalent experience.

  • 7-10 years of IT and supply chain experience in large or midsized multinational Health Care or Consumer Goods organization.

  • Broad IT and business expertise in various disciplines including infrastructure.

  • Additional experience in setting IT or business strategy and business IT alignment.

  • Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.

  • Qualification in project management. Business unit relevant business process knowledge, as related to IT.

  • Deep knowledge of all technologies used in business processes including order to cash, procure to pay, manufacturing, quality, logistics, Customer Relationship Management, and global trade management

  • Strong influence and negotiating skills. Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams.

  • Working knowledge of ERPs Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP ECC, and SAP APO is strongly desired.

  • Working knowledge of Digital Supply Chain trends e.g., RPA, Blockchain, IoT, DMS

  • Experience in partnering with TPL/TPM partners for business and IT initiatives desired

  • Strong project management skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in the strategic use of process improvements and IT as an enabler of business initiatives and business solutions

  • Good communication, logical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving abilities

  • Proven leadership and management skills

  • Strong ability to collaborate, influence, and build consensus. Experience with GxP validation.

  • Experience with vendor management

  • Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams
