Role Description

This role will sit within the QDLP office, which will be responsible for launching and managing Blackrock’s QDLP Funds. The team works closely with BlackRock’s global Portfolio Management team and is responsible for ensuring that QDLP portfolios are managed effectively and in a consistent and risk-controlled manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support QDLP portfolios.

  • Invest daily client subscriptions and ensure redemptions are dealt with in an efficient manner.

  • Maintain overall portfolio compliance respecting to portfolio guidelines and organize the resolution of issues with the appropriate teams.

  • Handle business enquiries and resolve issues by escalating matters to and working with relevant parties promptly.

  • Produce daily, periodic and ad hoc reporting required by the internal teams.

  • Work closely with QDLP leadership on new product/mandate development from conception through to portfolio onboarding.

  • Actively contribute to building on desk tools and solutions including optimization and automation to enhance the investment process.

  • Partner with sales team to help drive business growth.

  • Work with client business team to generate weekly investment commentary for fund promotion and handle enquiries from distribution channel.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of proven experience within the asset management industry or a related industry, ideally with exposure to portfolio management, investment research, or sales. QDLP experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of the financial markets and products.

  • Familiarity with China market practices, participants, and regulatory environment.

  • Demonstrates a proactive and risk-focused approach to work, understanding the importance of identifying and raising issues appropriately.

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently, solve problem dynamically and effectively prioritize multiple tasks across a range disciplines including portfolio management, process building, and business development.

  • Ability to work within a changing and at times challenging environment, comfort with ambiguity and ability to drive solutions.

  • A proven ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with key partners.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and prior hands on experience with automation tools (e.g. VBA, RPA, Python, etc.) would be an advantage.

  • Proficient in Mandarin and English.
