JOB SUMMARY

Design of new/existing Sprinkler Systems, Hydraulic calculations, Field surveys, Develop and attend mechanical coordination meetings, Arch/Eng. Meetings, Cut and List material using Computer Added Design Software, assist in management of assigned projects by assuring the highest quality product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A review of this description has excluded marginal or secondary functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. All duties and requirements listed are essential job functions.

  • Works with assigned design engineers and drafters to execute coordinated fire protection design drawings and specifications, as required, in order to support system installation, including field visits and surveys.

  • Uses computer aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, hydraulic calculations, material listing and construction documents. (AutoCAD, Revit, Naviswork, and. HydraCAD).

  • Routinely archives and retrieves data from electronic database for support of work.

  • Research equipment selection from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.

  • Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to assure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.

  • Maintains a neat and organized work area, which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.

  • Special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Discipline from an accredited technical institution.

  • Nicet Level II or Higher a Plus.

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years in Fire Protection drafting or design experience and must be proficient in the use of computer design software, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and HydraCAD..

  • Proven time management skills in order to juggle more than one project at a time.

  • Customer Service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
