Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Your projects may include many aspects of applied mechanical / structural engineering including design, analysis and test of mechanical systems, propulsion systems, and structures. The projects will include the integration of materials and processes, manufacturing, test, operations, and systems engineering. Participate in the entire design cycle, including requirements derivation, conceptual and detailed design, system performance modeling, structural analysis, manufacturing and integration support, development testing and qualification. Participate in the assembly and test of development and flight hardware including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis. Assist in the identification and implementation of design changes to improve system reliability and reduce operational cost. Specific duties are subject to our business unit objectives. Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Minimum of a BS Degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering field. Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2025. Experience with: Basic understanding in the fundamentals of design (requirements identification, material selection, input definition, form factors, interface definition, environmental considerations, etc.) Basic proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E preferred) including drawing creation. Basic proficiency in strength and mechanics of materials. Basic proficiency in structural analysis including Free-body diagrams, hand calculations, etc. Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS preferred). Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion. Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs. Flexible and adaptable mindset. Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction. Desired: MS degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering field.
