This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. We are seeking a Lead Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our team working on our New Glenn Second Stage Tanks projects. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a lean engineering initiative aimed at advancing new space capabilities. You will oversee a specialized team of engineers from various disciplines to accelerate the design and development process, while building upon the existing New Glenn Stage 2 design and introducing innovative new features. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of space development. Responsibilities: Drive the structural design and configuration of propellant tanks, internal structures, and interfaces. Perform detailed design, analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary structures directly exposed to cryogenic liquids. Generate 3D models, detailed part drawings, assemblies, installations, and interface control documents to both internal and customer specifications Work across business units and functional organizations within Blue Origin to meet the project deliverables. This individual will act as a liaison between various internal/external business partners and process owners, executing effective supplier management and coordination with the supply chain teams. This includes planning, critical supplier actions, negotiations, and recurring cost reduction initiatives. Develop project summary presentations and memos for executive review, internal team meetings and support to the Blue Origin communications team. Maintain and routinely report performance to plan on schedule, resources, cost, and technical performance metrics. Participate in subsystem test planning, execution, data reduction and analysis Coach, mentor and technically assist junior engineers; Provide technical mentorship for integration Provide on-site manufacturing and production support, including travel when needed. Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. in an aerospace, mechanical, or systems engineering-related field, with 8+ years of related experience. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Program and technical leadership experience in an aerospace development environment with experience in full lifecycle development of aerospace systems, designing, deploying, and supporting one or more complete flight systems.
