Amazon Sr. Product Manager - Tech in Seattle, Washington

This role is in the Amazon Custom team which drives customer (CX) and selling partner experiences (SX) innovation WW for customizable products. The Custom team works on a range of key initiatives across the shopping journey on the Amazon website and Selling Partner sites. We are responsible for improving the end-to-end experience for customers shopping for custom products and selling partners listing custom products on Amazon. You will be part of a dynamic team of product managers that is revolutionizing the shopping experience for our customers.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager- Tech (PMT) to lead key CX/SX initiatives that are essential to the growth of our business. You will play an integral role in our annual planning cycle to help us decide what to build, and you will own key initiative(s) that are core to our growth objectives. We prefer candidates with a solid track record in product management, with experience shipping seller and/or customer-facing experiences. You will be working closely with one or more engineering teams within and outside of Custom Tech.

The Sr. PMT will be responsible for collaborating with many teams, especially software development, product management, UX design, central technology teams (e.g., Catalog and Listing), and retail category teams to deliver a best-in-class CX and deliver business growth for Amazon. This individual will be responsible for identifying top opportunities, building and managing a roadmap, and prioritizing initiatives (feature/experiment launches, automation, and process improvement) to improve product. The role involves influencing senior leadership with long-range planning and writing PRFAQs (i.e., Amazon’s approach for developing new ideas), as well as rolling up sleeves to dive into execution details and coming up with experimentation strategies. You will be expected to flex both analytical skills and creative muscles as data is leveraged daily to inform and measure business impacts.

  • You define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • Partner with Engineering, User Experience design teams, Personalization, category business teams, and others to align on a vision and execute on it.

  • You execute on the roadmap independently as a product owner, and through other Product Managers as needed.

  • You collaborate with engineering and business intelligence to deliver results.

  • You understand the technology behind what you build, and how it impacts the customer experience.

  • You roll-up your sleeves and do your own deep dives into data and research.

  • You help raise the bar on product management across the organization.

About the team

The Amazon Custom team delivers improvements across the customer shopping journey from searching, evaluating, designing, and creating custom products on Amazon. The team also focuses on end-to-end listing improvements to unlock new custom selection experiences cross-category.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
