Amazon Sr. Product Manager - Tech, Amazon Games Technology Group in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Amazon Games Technology Group is changing the way game developers turn innovative ideas into game-changing player-facing features. We are looking for an experienced Sr. Product Manager - Tech to support teams delivering technical solutions to multiple AAA game development projects.

In this role, you will support a product portfolio of shared services and tools that make it easier, faster, and cheaper to bootstrap, develop, launch, and operate games at Amazon scale to Amazon's high standards. You will collaborate closely with multiple AAA customer teams, translating requests into new features and solutions. You look around corners to identify problems for your customers before they realize those problems exist.

Key job responsibilities

  • Be the Voice of the Customer in product planning and technical discussions with Senior and Principal Engineers to ensure we exceed our Customers' expectations.

  • Guide development teams to define and execute a technical product strategy to develop, deliver, and operate a portfolio of tools and services shared across multiple AAA game projects in various stages of game development.

  • Communicate product definitions and project status to customers, stakeholders, and organizational leadership.

  • Translate ambiguous problems from multiple development teams into actionable development roadmaps with 1, 3, and 5-year time horizons.

  • Communicate inclusively by actively listening to your customers and leveraging their feedback as avenues for growth. Empower your diverse teams to facilitate contributions from every team member.

About the team

We are the Amazon Games Technology Group. We empower 1P and 2P game studios to focus their efforts on the features that make their game unique. Our team's mission is to partner with studios to implement best-practice solutions to common technical game development challenges. We deliver technology that makes it easier, faster, and cheaper to bootstrap, develop, launch and operate games at Amazon scale to Amazon's operational standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • Passion for games and gaming technology

  • Experience as a hands on contributor to complex software products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
