AWS Finance seeks a world class Sr. Financial Analyst to support AWS Containers and Serverless Compute business.

This position will work with finance management and engage with business partners across the AWS organization, including product managers, engineering leaders, sales and business development leadership, and internal AWS teams to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership.

The successful candidate will propel financial insights and spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance financial reporting and customer experience.

Your mission will be to uncover data-driven business insights and enhance financial reporting to elevate the customer experience. This is an opportunity to flex your financial modeling expertise, problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build and optimize P&L models, develop KPI dashboards, and lead ad-hoc analyses.

  • Drive planning, budgeting and related deliverables, and ensuring financial discipline and compliance.

  • Prepare financial metrics to measure efficacy of the services and standardize financial reports.

  • Anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyze results and initiate corrective actions.

  • Provide controllership over headcount and costs of the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

  • 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
