Travel: Minimal travel will be required to other company locations including Pittsburgh, Bozeman, Dallas and/or Houston. Approximately 2-3 weeks annually.

Experience: 1 year of experience in Software Engineering or related. Requires skills and experience in the following: Ability to program in C++ and Python. Delivering production level code in C++ and Python. Familiarity with C++14, C++17, C++20, and modern C++ programming and techniques. Ability to use templates and STL algorithms and other advanced techniques. Expertise in writing good unit tests and integration tests and must be familiar with testing suites, Gtest. Fluent with Python 2 and Python 3. Familiarity with at least three of the following packages: keras, matplotlib, nltk, numpy, pandas, PyTorch, scikit-learn, scipy, seaborn, tensorflow, plotly and Bokeh. Good grasp of system design basics and be able to understand how large systems are put together and designed. Understand how an autonomous vehicle may behave (kinetics and kinematics). Candidate must be able to reason about the dynamics of an autonomous vehicle. Ability to use mathematical techniques such as data analysis, statistics, optimization to solve problems involving autonomous vehicle motion. Ability to understand constraints and cost functions and how they can be tuned to develop autonomous driving. Ability to work with data analysis tools and develop tooling and metrics.

Job duties: Research, design, develop, and test robotic applications. Contribute to the development of "Off-nominal" capabilities for the Motion Planning team. Design and develop tools and infrastructure to measure performance. Design metric suites and testing workflows for rapid iteration on algorithms. Test new iterations using unit test, integration test, simulation, and on-road test to ensure safety and performance of the vehicle. Develop dynamics models and feasibility analysis techniques for articulated systems. Design and implement production-grade software. Provide technical expertise for the architectural elements of off-nominal scenario handling. Triage and debug on-road issues and tickets and fix bugs. Own various pieces of the off-nominal detectors and help maintain and develop the supporting libraries and frameworks. Contribute to adjacent areas such as Fault handling and Issue handling in the Motion Planner.
