Amazon Software Development Engineer, AWS Industry Products in Seattle, Washington

Description

Interested in working on popular open source projects like Kubernetes to solve industry wide problems for Telcos who are large customers and partners of AWS? We are hiring SDEs to form a new team within AWS Industry Products (AIP) org.

AIP is an engineering organization chartered to build new AWS products by applying Amazon’s innovation mechanisms and technologies to real world industry problems. We are seeding a new team to solve urgent needs for Telco industry to increase AWS service adoption and drive revenue. We already have customers and looking for SDEs to build out products needed by these large revenue drivers.

You will be working on building out plugins needed by customers working closely existing AWS product like Elastic Kubernetes Service and Telco industry business units to drive adoption across industry. Experience in Kubernetes plugin development and/or knowledge of Golang and/or Linux networking will be preferred. . #BDSI_AIP

Key job responsibilities

  • Designing and building new product offerings from scratch focused on Telco industry

  • Working with customers, industry business units and other AWS teams to solve customer problems and bring product to market

  • Ramping up and working on popular open source projects like Kubernetes and languages like Golang

  • Building scalable software focused on operational excellence

  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers

  • Working across team/org boundaries

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Practical experience with key enabling technologies such as serverless, machine learning, video streaming, device software

  • Entrepreneurial spirit interested in experimentation and testing long held industry assumptions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
