Engineering Services designs, builds, and sustains technology that powers DE&E Technology’s worldwide content production and distribution platforms. In doing so, they contribute to a series of cross-functional services and technologies, including Quality Assurance, Data Analytics, Software Development, Broadcast Infrastructure, and Networking & Security.

We are looking for a software engineer who is passionate about observability tooling and integrations. This role will partner closely across engineering teams to craft and build innovative systems and processes to further improve and harness critical engineering data points. In this role you will enhance data to improve our understanding of essential engineering systems, playing a key role in the engineering lifecycle and creation of critical data points, solution frameworks, and ultimately products.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to captivating solutions, frameworks, and measurement of engineering systems.

  • Help redefine engineering requirements and models to resolve discontinuity of disparate systems.

  • Serve as a technical leader in the engineering team, providing mentorship and technical leadership.

  • Ensure engineering data capabilities empower developer teams to make improvements to our viewer experience.

  • Coordinate and contribute to investigations and analysis.

  • Discover opportunities for innovation and improvements across the entire engineering space.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working with software development.

  • Proficiency in Golang

  • Front End Experience in JavaScript or React JS

  • Strong expertise in backend development and architecture, experience with distributed systems.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • BA, BS, or MS in a quantitative field (CS, Engineering, Math/Statistics, Economics, Business, or similar) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a small team.

  • Familiarity with data platforms such as MySQL, Databricks, Snowflake, or Datadog.

  • Experience using data and creating frameworks to improve the structure of the data is a plus.

  • Experience in the streaming industry, knowledge of client and server side architecture is a plus.

  • Production experience with SDLC processes (GitHub) and AWS cloud services.

  • Experience with Rust, Python, or Java.

The hiring range for this position in New York or Washington is $142,600 to $191,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
