The Opportunity with McKinstry McKinstry is seeking a Senior Director of Environmental Health and Safety who will provide strategic direction and vision while leading our enterprise-wide environmental health and safety strategy. This role is a pivotal element within McKinstry, focusing on the implementation of practices, policies and procedures aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and the protection of the environment. In this role, you will be critical in fostering a sustainable working environment, minimizing risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Essential Job Functions: Play a central role in developing, implementing, and overseeing the various components within our organization, striving to create a hazard-free workplace for our employees. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, develop and implement safety and environmental policies, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within McK. Play a crucial role in preventing incidents such as occupational injuries, illnesses, and environmental mishaps by implementing systematic approaches, safety protocols, and training programs. Develop and communicate a clear strategic enterprise vision and strategy for safety across the organization, aligning with business goals, objectives and McKinstry values (people-first). Drive accountability for all company safety policies, as well as state and federal safety reporting requirements and regulations. Own department P&L including staffing, budgets, financial and regulatory reporting. Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide programs, policies, and initiatives that drive a culture of harm prevention and safety focus. Strategic leadership and guidance to enterprise operations in implementing and improving safety programs across multiple locations. This role involves utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to develop and create safety, risk, project, and business dashboards. Ensure company compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations in a wide range of business units/lines of business across the nation with varying levels of requirements. Represent the company in dealings with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other external and internal stakeholders. Identify potential safety hazards and risks, conduct thorough risk assessments, and develop strategies to mitigate and manage these risks effectively. Build and lead the enterprise-wide Safety Team of professionals aligned with various businesses across the organization. Ensure that the safety strategy is translated into operational action plans, in conjunction with all lines of business. Stay informed and proactively lead safety teams and organizations response to industry trends, best practices, and innovations in enterprise-wide safety. What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry Certified Safety Professional certification highly desired or equivalent working experience.
