Prime Air Electric Propulsion team is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to join our team.
A candidate should have strong background in hardware engineering, prototype testing, and electric powertrain testing. The test engineer will carry out design and build of the test systems, test execution, and documentation of test efforts.
The Test Engineer role works directly with the design team and enjoys excellent visibility and opportunities to grow.
Key job responsibilities
In order for both the candidate and the group to be successful, the candidate will:
Lead and execute full test lifecycle from test system design and build, through test execution and data review
Design and build automated test systems, including instrumentation and software integration
Develop test plans, specifications, and acceptance criteria for electronic & mechanical components and integrated systems
Perform PCBA testing, debugging, and failure analysis
Manage test system configuration control and change processes
Lead verification, validation, and environmental testing
Support component and system-level troubleshooting
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience: Designing and building automated test systems
Hardware development
Software/hardware systems integration
Demonstrated expertise in: Test automation software development
Test system troubleshooting and debugging
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
7+ years of engineering experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in: Leading test campaigns for electrical/mechanical devices and PCBAs, Environmental and qualification testing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
