The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Manufacturing Quality Manager to our growing Shop and Logistics division in Seattle. In this role, you will lead the Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) efforts within the manufacturing facilities, manages QC/QA initiatives to meet annual goals, and coordinates impacts to organization change management. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

  • Provide coaching and training across the manufacturing facilities across the PNW to support manufacturing QA/QC objectives and goals in alignment with our line of business vision and through the lens/construct of the ISO 9001:2015 Standard.

  • Develop the annual Quality Assurance Plan per the guidance outlined in the Quality Assurance Program.Coordinate the annual Quality Assurance Plan with the stakeholders and subject matter experts from the various lines of business.

  • Partner with other Quality Program Managers to stay aligned with broader McKinstry Quality Programs.

  • Set priorities for the program and regularly review program progress.

  • Conduct regular assessments of the health of the Quality Management System with senior management.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams within the scope of the Quality Assurance Program to conduct Quality Assurance Reviews per the annual plan.In addition, actively support and drive the Enterprise Program Safety Quality Assurance Review Process.

  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor to completion all corrective action plans for programs that are found to be non-compliant with McKinstry standards.Track and report on Quality Assurance Review results, to include corrective action/preventative action (CAPA) plan progress and overall program status.

  • Maintain quality and reliability standards by evaluating current and proposed processes for possible improvement opportunities to ensure cross-functional team alignment.

  • Coordinate, update, and maintain policies, procedures, associated tools, templates, and forms to support the Quality Assurance Program.

  • Write and review policies, procedures, and supporting documentation under the guidance of process stakeholders and subject matter experts.Provide critical analysis of existing and proposed processes to ensure cross-functional team alignment.

  • Be a first-tier resource for questions on completing/recording quality control activities within our systems of record (ex. Procore, CxAlloy).

  • Conduct quality assurance meetings with various size audiences to communicate program goals. Develop supporting materials for these presentations to match audience experience and meeting objectives.

  • Facilitate pre-work risk management and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) reviews.Conduct post-work lessons learned/causal factors reviews.

  • Work with Operational Excellence supporting team members across the Enterprise, Lines of Business, and Corporate Service Units, and assist in the development of all-department operations, training, and communication plans.

  • Working hand and hand with representatives from our Functional Training Program, update and maintain our Quality Control and Quality Assurance curriculum within our learning management system.Provide on-going quality control/assurance training throughout the organization using a mix of online and in-person instructional tools and methods (to include practical application training tools).

  • Provide coaching and training across the regions throughout the US to support business unit quality control and assurance objectives to include the fundamentals of Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, and the ISO 9001:2015 Standard.

  • Communicate quality control and quality assurance initiatives throughout organization in small and large group settings. Develop supporting materials for these presentations to match audience experience and meeting objectives.

  • Is committed to making McKinstry a world class organization.Liaise with external world-class standardization organizations and seek peer input on progress of McKinstry quality assurance efforts.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (a degree in construction management, engineering, computer science, math, statistics, or similar quantitative field is preferred).

  • Advanced Degree preferred (a degree in construction management, engineering, computer science, math, statistics, or similar quantitative field is preferred).

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the manufacturing and/or construction services.

  • Strong project management skills required

  • Minimum eight (8) years of quality control and quality assurance experience required, with specific experience acting as a project quality control manager.

  • Minimum ten (10) years of team and/or project management experience required,

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in technical writing preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with people at all levels across the organization.

  • Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to lead diverse project teams required.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook and Visio required.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction management software tools such as Autodesk BIM360, Procore, CxAlloy

  • Experience in Project Management, to include PMI certification, preferred.

  • Experience in LEAN Construction preferred.

  • Lean Belt Certification

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 Standard and its application

  • ASQ Certification

  • USACE CQM-C

  • OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 Certification Preferred

T he pay range for this position is $93,600- $163,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
