Amazon IT Software Program Manager , Engine Management in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon is seeking an IT Software Program Manager for the Technology Sourcing and Infrastructure Team (TSI). This role requires the ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders - including finance, security, engineering, legal, and various business units - to define requirements and improve technology-related processes. This individual will coordinate with various internal customers and technology procurement partners across multiple regions to create and optimize sourcing and procurement processes, as well as support sourcing engagements and vendor management activities.

The role includes managing concurrent project tracks to drive improvements focused on scaling internal processes, driving cost-out, mitigating risk, and improving internal reporting, automation, and standardization across technology verticals and geographies. This role will also help coordinate technology forecasting and tracking processes for financial planning and month-end close cycles. You may also contribute to negotiations and ongoing business reviews with strategic suppliers, including review of pricing structures, supplier quotes, and issue resolution.

The candidate should possess strong organizational skills, including the ability to disambiguate and simplify inter-dependent processes and apply strong influencing skills to gain stakeholder commitment. This role requires robust analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, but also function as part of a tightly integrated team and earn trust with key customers. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules

  • Experience in technology business processes (budgeting/forecasting, month-end close, approval workflows, management reporting)

  • Familiarity with procurement processes (sourcing, contracting, negotiation, etc)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • PMP

  • 8-10 years of relevant Technology experience

  • Knowledge of IT Software and Hardware concepts (SaaS, Asset Management, Client Hardware, Networking, Wireless)

  • Knowledge of contract terms and conditions

  • Ability to compose, analyze/interpret, and apply decision-making to financial data (spend, unit rates, discounting) and technology metrics (inventory, usage, utilization)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
