Blue Origin LLC Integration Engineering Technician Sr, Research & Development in Seattle, Washington

Provides tactical and technical support to Engineering R&D by performing activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype mechanical systems or specialized test equipment. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, you will directly support Blue Origin's R&D teams working to develop new, state-of-the-art technologies and systems needed to advance human spaceflight. Responsibilities include general fabrication, maintenance, and operation of mechanical systems where you will apply your technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to support R&D projects, systems, and critical infrastructure. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Execute work instructions for assembly tasks and mechanical builds Strategize assembly steps for complex mechanical systems Work with engineers to review design concepts and support developmental testing Safely work with hazardous systems, containing chemicals and/or high pressure Maintain a safe, clean and productive work environment Qualifications 7+ years of experience in a mechanical field or 5+ years of experience in aerospace or 5+ years of experience in an R&D environment Advance knowledge of rapid prototyping and life cycle of systematic builds Advance experience with troubleshooting mechanical systems Advance experience with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings Demonstrate potential to be a team leader, mentor others on technical topics Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Must be physically able to: climb ladders and stairs, and work in small, restricted areas + lift and carry 25 lbs.
