Description

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join the AWS Infrastructure Finance team providing end-to-end financial support driving AWS to be the low cost provider in cloud computing and leader in customer experience. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving key business planning processes and automation initiatives within the Supply Chain Finance team, working across business pillars including reverse logistics, transportation, and warehousing. You will have the responsibility for managing the planning process, consolidating financial information, forecasting, reporting and analysis and partner with business leaders to help define the future of the organization. The successful candidate will need to be strategic, analytical, and have the demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. This is a role with high exposure to senior management across AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain.

  • Prepare and present financial summaries and business insights to Business and Finance Management.

  • Build out and enhance financial models, develop business insights and KPI dashboards

  • Develop and implement long range business planning and present complex financial information in a clear, concise and wholesome manner to Senior Leaders.

  • Work with big data and transform it into business insights and KPI dashboards.

  • Lead automation efforts of critical processes and planning templates, identifying opportunities for improvements and driving actionable enhancements

  • Monitor and analyze the business's cost structure, identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  • Lead valuation of new business opportunities and prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights to help business make informed decisions

  • Develop and manage annual plans, work closely with business leads to understand and manage budget variances and drive business to be more cost effective

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company asset and ensure financial integrity

  • Provide decision support for business initiatives, collaborate with operational teams to enhance financial performance and business processes.

  • Evaluate financial risks and propose strategies for mitigation.

In addition, the ideal candidate should demonstrate ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment as well as a desire to grow professionally as the role’s responsibility grows rapidly with the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
