Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking an *Accessioning Specialist * for a 6-month contract opportunity with one of our clients, a leading immune medicine biotechnology company in Seattle. Pay rate: $25-27/hour.

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 9:30am- 6pm

Workplace: Onsite in Seattle.

Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension or conversion

Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Lab Operations team member to join our clinical accessioning and sample management teams. This role requires approximately 90% of the time working in the lab and 10% on various departmental tasks. The Accessioning Specialist II will play a crucial role in supporting clinical and research sample management within Molecular Laboratory Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and accession samples into the Laboratory Information System (CORA) used by BSM.

  • Identify and resolve problem samples/shipments, escalating issues to the appropriate department or BSM leadership when necessary.

  • Enter, upload, and verify the accuracy and completeness of sample and project information across multiple systems.

  • Maintain detailed records of all system transactions to ensure sample Chain of Custody (COC).

  • Manage the appropriate storage and transfer of physical samples throughout their lifecycle.

  • Assist with sample disposition management, including disposal, return, and repurposing.

  • Perform check-in and check-out of biological samples to/from BSM.

  • Conduct sample transfers at the appropriate temperature to designated departments at scheduled times.

  • Adhere to documented processes, safety protocols, and laboratory regulations, including Good Clinical and Laboratory Practices (GCLP), College of American Pathologists (CAP), and Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendment (CLIA).

  • Work independently with a strong understanding of underlying processes and excellent time management skills.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1+ years of experience working in a clinical laboratory performing CLIA high-complexity testing or handling clinical samples in a regulated laboratory OR an associate or bachelor's degree.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or Chemistry.

  • Experience in a high-throughput clinical, research, or pathology testing laboratory.

  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and web-based applications.

  • High integrity and experience with HIPAA compliance.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Willingness to work occasional extended hours, including nights and weekends, handling human biological specimens.
