Description
We are seeking a meticulous Accountant to join our non-profit organization located in Seaside, California. In this role, you will work under the direction of the Accounting Manager to analyze financial information, interpret federal and state regulations, and perform complex professional/technical accounting functions. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply these to complex accounting problems.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze financial information and interpret federal and state regulations
• Perform complex professional/technical accounting functions to support the non-profit organizations
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts
• Interpret accounting reports for departments and answer questions related to balances and general ledger transactions
• Reconcile accounting records and meet required deadlines
• Create financial reports for the non-profit Auxiliary organizations
• Utilize Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, and ERP Solutions to perform accounting functions
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Conduct Auditing and manage Budget Processes
• Use Great Plains (GPAC) for managing accounting functions
Accounts Receivable entry
GL coding/verification of GL coding on Accounts Payable invoices
Preparation of Quarterly Sales and Use Tax return and Prepayments
Preparation and submission of DE542 to EDD semimonthly
Preparation and submission of FTB Form 592 and IRS Form 1042
Reconciliations (to name a few)
Accounts Payable
Sales Tax Liability
Travel Advances
Gifts/Donations
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services.
• Familiar with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions.
• Knowledge and experience with Great Plains (GPAC).
• Ability to perform all Accounting Functions including but not limited to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
