About the Position: The Incumbent will serve as the traffic management specialist in the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS) emergency operations center. Responsibilities Serve as shift lead as the emergency operations center during emergency situations and makes key decisions on actions to take. Research shipment statuses, recognize deviations in normal shipment procedures or activity, and initiate appropriate emergency response notification. Gather carrier performance data and populates carrier performance metrics tools maintained by the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS). Conduct studies to determine Command capabilities under various emergency situations. Communicate with State and Local authorities, and commercial carriers. Provide training to new personnel on the Defense Transportation Tracking System (DTTS). GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Tracking the movement of general cargo within an automated Transportation Tracking System to destination; and (2) Applying transportation concepts, principles, and methodology, applicable for conducting traffic management.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
