Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

The candidates will be required to lift 50-pound doors repetitively during their shift, use a tape measure accurately, and use hand and power tools to assemble portions of metal and fiberglass doors. Individuals with experience in carpentry, home remodels, or DIY projects around their home are ideal candidates for this position. Candidates need to have worked for at least 12 consecutive months at a workplace in the past 3 years to demonstrate job longevity.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrate and incorporate principles of safety for self and others into daily activities.

  • Develop and maintain a clean, safe working environment and ensure participation in safety programs and required trainings.

  • Safeguard company property while maintaining an acceptable level of productivity.

  • Read work-orders and perform work as assigned by the management team.

  • Attach appropriate labels, documents, and tags to products and/or packages.

  • Maintain production pace while meeting daily production goals.

  • Use tools such as table saws, miter saws, shapers, routers, various hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and CNC controlled machinery.

  • Manufacture, assemble, and construct various components and configurations of entrance door systems.

  • Use shop management workflow software, including handheld scanners, to facilitate the electronic movement of work orders, inventory, and other production-critical parts through the production process.

  • Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and encourages team effort.

  • Perform other duties as assigned that would lead to the successful operation of the department, team, and company mission.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, lift, and walk for long periods of time.

  • Experience with hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read a standard tape measure.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Must have worked at an employer for at least 12 consecutive months in the past 3 years.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in carpentry, framing, or door installation.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions with all levels of the organization and team.

  • Quality-minded to ensure the product lives up to the established reputation.

  • Ability to read paperwork, interpret instructions, and exercise good judgment.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

Work Environment

This is a very large, spaced-out building consisting of several long paint lines, each run by 2 workers. Despite being spaced out, the environment is very warm due to the automated lines. The facility is well-lit. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required. The shift is from Monday to Thursday, 4 pm to 2:30 am, and every other Friday from 12 pm to 5 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schofield, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
