Essential Responsibilities

As the Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Support the team in development of new product introductions and support existing

  • Support new product requirements development and flow requirements down to NPI engineering

  • Serve as a recognized technical expert in qualification, planning and test execution

  • Develop and support development of models for the performance and lifetime estimation of energy storage systems

  • Originate and participate in the development of new and novel design concepts for energy storage systems for performance and price optimization

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experience engineers.

  • Provide on-site test support

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and present outcomes to business leaders around part certification.

  • Participate, present and/or review in technical and program reviews from certification/qualification point of view.

  • Consult with and support the Chief Engineer’s Office in the execution of technical goals including design boards and design practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering position.

Desired Characteristics

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering position.

  • Working knowledge of energy storage systems and their operation

  • Experience in the design of a range of BESS topologies

  • Experience in NPI certification / qualification, technology development, and legacy product support.

  • Experience in Systems Qualification.

  • Understand the qualification basis for hardware/systems that are common with the NPI programs.

  • Ability to work on continuous improvement of processes, product change management (Tollgate), Safety and Quality.

  • Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly procedures.

  • Interest in being a self-starter with a focus on problem solving and driving solutions.

  • Highly motivated, passionate with exceptional communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others and lead small teams.

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead analysis and data presentation.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interest in finding successful strategies for both GE and our customers.
