Skidmore College Visiting Assistant Professor in Spanish in Saratoga Springs, New York
Summary
The Department of World Languages and Literatures invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Spanish position with specialization in Latin America beginning in the fall of 2025. Applicants must possess a strong desire to teach in a liberal arts environment with a reputation for excellent teaching. The successful candidate will teach language, literature, and culture. The position carries a teaching load of eighteen faculty workload credits per year (approximately five courses per year).We encourage applications from historically under-represented groups and individuals who have experience teaching in a multi-cultural classroom. Your teaching statement should speak to your ability to work effectively with a student population that is broadly diverse with regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion, and it should provide specific examples that demonstrate this ability. The college is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.
Education: Ph.D. required at time of employment

Pay Rate: $66,000 - $70,000
The hiring rate for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
Prior relevant work or industry experience.
Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
Academic discipline (faculty pay ranges reflect 9-month annual salary).
Unique applicable skills.
