Sarasota County Government Benefits & Risk Coordinator in Sarasota, Florida

In this role you'll support the Human Resources Department to administer & complete Employee Benefits, Risk and Safety initiatives and projects. Showcase your skills by managing project deadlines and collaborating with each unit to administer overall needs of the department related to insurance programs, renewals, contracts, agreements, meetings, goals and objectives.

  • Provide administrative support to the Risk Manager and the Benefits and Wellness Manager.

  • Create, edit, track, follow-up, and manage procurement documents (agreements, requisitions, purchase orders, etc.) to support HR insurance and benefits projects.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office and internal systems (e.g., GovMax, OneSolution, OnBase, Origami) for task completion.

  • Develop various project materials including meeting agendas, minutes, project goals, memos, web content, newsletters, and print materials.

  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion, process invoicing and fund transfers for Benefits programs.

  • Coordinate with department leads, attend meetings, and contribute to project coordination and tracking.

  • Evaluate and update content as needed; manage distribution of communications products for Benefits and Risk.

  • From developed content, create training, safety, benefits, and wellness materials to support department objectives adhering to County design templates and communications policies in material design and distribution.

  • Perform administrative tasks for events and trainings; manage employee communications within SharePoint.

  • Analyze insurance program data and collaborate on solutions to meet department goals.

  • Maintain communications repository and create annual task calendar for supported divisions.

  • Develop overall communications plan and produce materials for events such as Open Enrollment and Safety Expo.

  • Collaborate with HR divisions on assigned tasks or projects.

  • Participate in the development and execution of the annual benefits guide for action and retired employees.

  • Communicate with vendors on meeting agenda, problem solving, issues follow-up and other items as directed by the Risk and Benefits management team.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or job-related field

    • OR - Associate's degree in Business with three (3) years experience in related field
    • OR - Five (5) years professional related experience may be substituted for the degree at management discretion.

About Everything Else

Starting Pay Range: $52,936.00 - $57,000.00, based on your experience
