Robert Half Medical Scheduler in Santa Monica, California
Description We are in search of an efficient Medical Scheduler to join our team in Santa Monica, California. This role involves providing administrative support to our Cancer Center by scheduling appointments and checking in patients. As a Medical Scheduler, your responsibilities will revolve around interacting with patients both over the phone and face-to-face, and utilizing specific healthcare-related software systems.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate authorizations for cancer imaging and surgeries from insurance companies.
• Verify insurance coverage for cancer imaging and surgeries.
• Regularly communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding authorizations and insurance coverage.
• Handle patient check-out process after their visit.
• Answer incoming phone calls and schedule appointments as necessary.
• Leverage Electronic Medical Records system EPIC for scheduling and documentation.
• Provide Administrative Assistance as required.
• Conduct Medical Insurance Verification and Patient Scheduling.
• Coordinate Surgery Scheduling. Requirements • Proficiency in Administrative Assistance tasks such as organizing, scheduling, and managing correspondence.
• Knowledge of Medical Insurance Verification processes and protocols.
• Experience with Patient Scheduling, including managing appointments and coordinating patient care.
• Familiarity with Surgery Scheduling, including coordinating with surgeons, medical staff, and patients.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, medical professionals, and insurance providers.
• Proficient in using medical software and electronic health record systems.
• Detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent education required, further education in medical administration is a plus.
